I'm a WINNER!

I've never been more sure of it! Yep- it's true- I came in second in the big costume contest at work. There was actually some stiff competition and I was pretty worried- but I guess I was pretty inspiring- walking that carpet- looking like an idiot. I won NOT ONLY a 25 dollar gift certificate but also a Harry Potter mug with an owl on it- hoooot....said mug was filled with the requisite candy of course. SUWEET.

Well- I graduated from the U of A a year and a half ago and work at the Library and am taking grad classes part-time until I start library school. I'm crafty, I speak German after spending a year in Graz, Austria and I'm learning Hebrew for "fun." I have a sister and a huge network of friends who are scattered all over the nation and the world (mostly Austria;). I am the Grand Duchess of the Militant Dork Alliance (henceforth to be named the MDA) which is a completely pacifist organization put in place to protect the cause of Dorks the world over. We feel that dorks are often the coolest cats around and that as such they deserve a) respect and b) power. We also figure that really- seeing as dorks are usually smarter than your average "cool" sort- they probably secretly wield the power anyway- so mostly we're just working on the respect. We'd also like to get more money- and also fame- so we'll see about that. Anyone is welcome to join the MDA- there are sectors set up all over the world- except Antartica- and I'm in charge of the Eurasian Landmass- which is very actively dorky as you might imagine. I'm looking to start a website soon.
